TECHNOLOGY STATUS

 OVERVIEW:

The use of the Internet for fast, effective communication plays a significant role in the running of the school.  The school also sends and receives a significant amount of information through the Internet, which is critical for the expediency of the school’s operations, and allows outside agencies to better utilize the sent information. To do this there are some digital tools that are currently being used and there is great opportunity for more to be embraced.

At present, there are five (5) Labs used for Information Technology and some Business Studies classes. Computers and internet access are available in other areas throughout the school, such as the library, staffroom, foreign language lab, technical drawing rooms. Teachers and students have direct access to the internet and are required to enter a password to be connected. 

Some of the digital tools currently being use by some teachers are PowerPoint presentations, Quizziz, Nearpod and Kahoot! However, adequate training showcasing other digital tools can still offered to all staff, and with the appropriate resources these tools can be used at the school as well.
